Roblox Plus Explained: Price, Benefits and What Creators Get
Roblox Premium is closed to new members. Roblox Plus replaced it on April 30, 2026 — no monthly Robux stipend, but a 10–20% discount, free private servers and creator payouts. Here is the full picture.

Related Guides on RBXMods SourcesIf you opened the subscription menu on Roblox recently, you probably noticed something different: Roblox Premium is gone, and Roblox Plus has taken its place. Roblox announced Plus on April 10, 2026, and launched it globally on April 30, 2026, at $4.99 a month. It is a different kind of subscription from Premium — there is no monthly Robux stipend in the base plan — and that one change has caused most of the confusion. This guide explains what Roblox Plus actually includes, what happened to Premium, what creators get out of it, and whether the $4.99 is worth paying.
Key takeaways
- Roblox Plus costs $4.99 a month (or the regional equivalent) and replaced Roblox Premium for new subscribers on April 30, 2026.
- The base plan has no monthly Robux stipend. Instead you get a 10% discount on in-game and avatar purchases, rising to 20% from your third consecutive month.
- Plus also gives you free unlimited private servers, fee-free Robux transfers, trading, and the right to publish and sell avatar items on the Marketplace.
- Creators are not short-changed by the discount — Roblox says it "will cover the discounts, so creators continue to make the same amount per-item", so a subscriber's discount does not come out of the creator's share.
What Roblox Plus Is
Roblox Plus is Roblox's monthly subscription for its most engaged players. Roblox's chief business officer, Enrico D'Angelo, announced it as a plan "designed to reward our most engaged users while ensuring that creators continue to benefit as the platform grows." The idea is simple: instead of handing you Robux every month the way Premium did, Plus makes the Robux you already spend go further, and adds platform perks on top.
The switch was total. From April 30, 2026, nobody new can sign up for Roblox Premium — Plus is the only subscription available to new members. Existing Premium members can keep their Premium membership, including their monthly Robux stipend, and Roblox offered them a one-month free trial of Plus that stacks on top of Premium. But two Premium perks ended on May 30, 2026: the 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases and the Premium profile badge. If you are still on Premium, you are on a legacy plan that Roblox is no longer selling.
One confusion to clear up first: Roblox Plus is not the same thing as the old "Roblox+" browser extension. That extension was made by an independent developer, not by Roblox, and it was discontinued in November 2025. Roblox Plus is Roblox's own official subscription, bought inside Roblox itself.
Roblox Plus Price: $4.99 a Month and the Bundles
The base Roblox Plus plan costs $4.99 USD per month, or the regional equivalent — for example, £4.99 a month in the UK. It is a benefits-only plan: it includes no monthly Robux at that price. That is the single biggest difference from Premium, and the reason some players felt short-changed at launch.
If you do want monthly Robux bundled in, Roblox offers optional bundles that combine the subscription with a recurring Robux amount in one payment: Plus 500, Plus 1000 and Plus 2000, which include 500, 1,000 or 2,000 Robux a month respectively on top of the Plus subscription. The bundles cost more than the base plan — check the subscription page in your region for the exact price, because Roblox prices them by currency and does not publish one global bundle price list.
Roblox also offers a free trial in many regions: the subscription page shows a "Try it for free" option, with the trial end date stated before you confirm. After the trial, you are charged automatically each month until you cancel, so set a reminder if you only want to test it. Premium members were offered a one-month free trial of Plus at launch, on top of their existing subscription.
Every Roblox Plus Benefit, Explained
Plus comes with five groups of benefits. Here is what each one actually does, in plain language.
1. A discount on almost everything you buy with Robux
Subscribers get an immediate 10% discount on in-game items, avatar items, game passes, developer products, developer subscriptions and paid access to games. From your third consecutive month, the discount rises to 20% — so a 100-Robux item costs 90 Robux in your first two months and 80 Robux from month three. Roblox's documentation lists the exclusions: items priced over 1,000,000 Robux, Marketplace publishing fees, ad credits and group fees are not discounted, and the discount applies to Robux purchases, not to buying Robux itself. The important detail for the platform is who pays for it: Roblox covers the discount, so the creator of the item you buy still earns the same amount as if you had paid full price.
2. Free, unlimited private servers
Plus subscribers get free and unlimited access to paid private servers across all supported games. A private server is your own instance of a game — you control who can join — and games that charge for them normally cost Robux per month. With Plus, that cost disappears. Note that a game has to support private servers in the first place; Plus cannot create a private server in a game that does not offer them.
3. Free Robux transfers
For the first time, Roblox lets users send Robux directly to another user with no transaction fee. Sending is a Plus subscriber benefit; the person receiving does not need Plus. There are safety rules around it: a parent or caregiver must approve every time a user under 18 sends or receives Robux, and users 18 and older must be age-checked before they can send or receive without parental approval. Our age-check guide explains how that verification works.
4. Trading, reselling and publishing avatar items
Plus subscribers can trade and resell limited avatar items, and — the part that matters most to creators — they can publish and sell their own avatar items on the Marketplace. This used to be a Premium 1000/2200 benefit; now Plus is the route in. If you make classic clothing, this is the gate you have to pass: our shirt-making guide walks through the upload itself, including the 80 Robux upload fee, the 10 Robux publishing advance and the ID verification you also need. Premium 1000 and 2200 members who stayed on Premium keep the same publishing access.
5. A profile badge
Subscribers get a distinct Roblox Plus badge on their profile. It is cosmetic, but it is also the visible signal other players use to tell a Plus member from a free player — and it is the badge that replaced the old Premium logo, which was discontinued on May 30, 2026.

Roblox Plus vs Premium: What Changed
| Roblox Premium (closed to new sign-ups) | Roblox Plus (from April 30, 2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $4.99 / $9.99 / $19.99 by tier | $4.99 (base); bundles add monthly Robux |
| Monthly Robux stipend | Yes (450 / 1,000 / 2,200 by tier) | No in the base plan; only in Plus 500/1000/2000 bundles |
| Discount on purchases | No | 10%, rising to 20% from the third consecutive month |
| Private servers | Paid per game | Free and unlimited in supported games |
| Robux transfers | Not available | Free, no transaction fee |
| Trade / publish avatar items | Yes (Premium 1000/2200) | Yes |
| 10% bonus on Robux purchases | Yes, until May 30, 2026 | No — discontinued for Premium too on May 30, 2026 |
The trade-off is clear once you see it side by side. Premium was a Robux-delivery plan with a stipend; Plus is a savings plan. If you mainly wanted Robux handed to you each month, Plus at $4.99 gives you none — you need a bundle. If you spend a lot of Robux inside games, the discount can be worth more than a stipend was. Existing Premium members do not have to choose: they can keep Premium and stack the free Plus trial on top, then decide.
What Roblox Plus Means for Creators
Plus is not just a player subscription; Roblox built creator earnings into it from day one, and the numbers grew fast. At its developer conference in September 2026, Roblox reported that Plus incentives had generated more than 300 million Robux in creator earnings in the subscription's first four months. Three mechanisms produce that money.
First, the discount is free revenue for creators. Because Roblox covers the 10–20% discount, a creator earns the same amount on every sale to a Plus subscriber as on a sale at full price — and subscribers can stretch the same Robux across more purchases, which means more sales overall. Our Robux and DevEx guide explains the fee chain those earnings travel through, and our Wallet guide covers how creators will be paid from December 2026.
Second, private servers pay creators. When Plus subscribers spend 60 or more cumulative minutes in a game's paid private server over 30 days, the creator can earn up to 100 Robux per subscriber, paid out across up to five paid private servers where each subscriber spent the most time. That turns private servers — previously just a player perk — into a small recurring income stream for games people actually hang out in.
Avatar items have their own economics too. On a Marketplace purchase, the item's creator receives 30% of the sale at the price floor, with the share rising toward 70% at higher prices — the full table is in Roblox's marketplace fees documentation, linked in Sources below. That is the share Plus unlocks when it lets you publish: the subscription is the gate, and the fee table is what you earn through it.
Third, there is a sign-up bonus. Creators can add the PromptRobloxSubscriptionPurchase API to their game, which lets a player subscribe to Plus without leaving the game. When a user subscribes through a game that implements it, the creator earns a bonus of 250 Robux per month for each of the subscriber's first three months, up to 750 Robux per subscriber. It is a genuine new income line for creators — but it is also a line to use honestly. Prompting a player to subscribe is fine; pressuring children into a paid subscription, or hiding what they are signing up for, is not, and it will cost you the trust the bonus depends on.

Is Roblox Plus Worth It?
It depends on how you already play. Work it out with the discount, because that is where the money is. A 100-Robux item costs 90 Robux at 10% off and 80 Robux at 20% off, so every 100 Robux you spend saves you 10 or 20 Robux. The subscription costs $4.99 a month, which is about what 400 Robux costs to buy on the web store, as of November 2026 — Robux prices vary by package and platform — so at the 10% rate you need to spend about 4,000 Robux a month on eligible items to save the equivalent of the fee, and at the 20% rate (from your third month) about 2,000 Robux a month. If you spend that much inside games and on avatar items, Plus pays for itself; if you spend a few hundred Robux a month, it does not, and you are paying $4.99 for private servers and a badge.
The private servers change the maths if you use them. A paid private server's price varies by game, so check what your games charge — if you already pay for one or two every month, free unlimited servers can cover the subscription on their own. The same goes for trading: if you trade limited items, Plus is now the only way in for new subscribers, and there is no alternative plan to compare it with.
For creators, the calculation is different again. If you sell avatar items, Plus is not optional — it is the subscription that unlocks publishing, and the $4.99 is a business cost against whatever your items earn. If you run a game, the API bonus and private-server rewards are extra income for adding the prompt — but only for subscriptions started inside your game, and only for the subscriber's first three months — and only if your game is somewhere players already spend time. Our game pass guide covers the monetisation that Plus subscribers are most likely to buy from.
How to Get Roblox Plus (and How to Cancel)
Subscribing takes a minute. On the Roblox website or app, open Settings, then Billing or Subscriptions (the exact menu name varies by device), and choose Roblox Plus — the page shows the price in your currency, the free-trial length if one is offered, and the renewal date. If you want monthly Robux as well, pick one of the Plus 500, Plus 1000 or Plus 2000 bundles on the same page instead of the base plan. Payment goes through Roblox's normal billing, and the subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
Cancelling is the same route in reverse: Settings, then Billing or Subscriptions (menu names vary by device), then cancel Roblox Plus. You keep the benefits until the end of the month you already paid for. Roblox has not said whether a gap resets the count — in practice, expect it to, since the discount rewards consecutive months.
Watch Out: "Free Robux" and Fake Plus Offers
Plus has one more thing in common with every Roblox feature that involves money: scammers use its name. Roblox Plus does not give you free Robux at the base tier, and no website, video or Discord message can give you Plus for free, unlock a "Plus generator", or activate a subscription outside Roblox. The only place to get Roblox Plus is inside Roblox itself, through the subscription page. Any offer that asks for your password, your 2-step verification code, a cookie, or a payment outside Roblox is a scam — the same rule our account safety guide applies to every "free Robux" promise. If you see a "Roblox Plus" offer anywhere else, close it and report it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Roblox Plus the same as Roblox Premium?
No. Roblox Plus replaced Premium for new subscribers on April 30, 2026. Premium gave a monthly Robux stipend; the base Plus plan gives a 10–20% discount, free private servers, free Robux transfers and Marketplace access instead, with no monthly Robux unless you buy a Plus 500/1000/2000 bundle.
How much does Roblox Plus cost?
$4.99 USD per month, or the regional equivalent (£4.99 in the UK). The Plus 500, Plus 1000 and Plus 2000 bundles cost more and add 500, 1,000 or 2,000 Robux a month. Check the subscription page for your region's exact price.
Does Roblox Plus give free Robux?
Not in the base plan — there is no monthly Robux stipend at $4.99. The bundles include monthly Robux, and the discount stretches the Robux you buy further, but any site promising "free Robux" or free Plus is a scam.
Do I need Roblox Plus to sell avatar items?
Yes, if you are a new seller: publishing and selling avatar items on the Marketplace requires Roblox Plus (or a legacy Premium 1000/2200 membership). You also need ID verification and the upload and publishing fees, covered in our shirt-making guide.
What happens to my Premium membership?
Nothing, unless you cancel it. Existing Premium members can keep their membership and monthly Robux stipend, and they were offered a one-month free Plus trial on top. The 10% bonus on Robux purchases and the Premium profile badge ended on May 30, 2026.
Is Roblox Plus worth it for creators?
If you sell avatar items, it is required to publish, so yes. If you run a game, the private-server rewards and the 250-Robux-per-month sign-up bonus are real extra income, and the discount is covered by Roblox, so your per-item earnings do not drop when subscribers buy.
