Roblox Wallet and Card Explained: Daily Payouts for Creators
DevEx has paid creators on request since 2013. From December 2026, Roblox Wallet pays eligible US creators every business day instead — here is who qualifies, what changes, and what stays the same.

Related Guides on RBXMods SourcesSince 2013, Roblox creators have been paid through the same route: earn Robux, wait until you hold at least 30,000 of them, then ask the Developer Exchange — DevEx — to turn them into dollars. That request-and-wait cycle is about to change. At its Roblox Developers Conference in September 2026, Roblox announced Roblox Wallet, a financial account inside Creator Hub that pays eligible creators in real money automatically every business day, plus a Roblox Card for spending that balance in the real world in 2027. This guide explains what Roblox Wallet is, who gets it first, how it differs from DevEx, and what creators — in the US and everywhere else — should actually do about it.
Key takeaways
- Roblox Wallet is a financial account for creators inside Creator Hub. It pays cleared earnings in real currency automatically every business day, starting in December 2026 for eligible US creators aged 18 and older.
- Wallet is not a bank account and not for regular players — it is for creator earnings, provided through Roblox's financial partner Airwallex, and it is opt-in at launch.
- DevEx is not disappearing yet. Roblox plans to transition away from DevEx in the US around mid-2027; it stays longer in other regions, and Robux earned before opening a Wallet remain eligible for DevEx.
- Roblox Card arrives in 2027 as a debit card that spends only your available Wallet balance — it is not a credit card.
What Roblox Wallet Is (and What It Is Not)
Roblox Wallet is a financial account built into Creator Hub for creators who earn money on Roblox. Instead of requesting a DevEx payout when you feel like it, your cleared earnings are paid out in real currency — US dollars at launch — automatically every business day, and you can move the available funds to an external bank account on your own schedule. Wallet also brings richer earnings analytics into Creator Hub, with transaction-level records showing which sales contributed to each payout, plus tax documentation in the same place.
Three things it is not. It is not a bank account: Wallet is a financial account provided through Roblox's financial partner, Airwallex US — a licensed money transmitter — and Roblox's chief commercial officer said at the RDC briefing that Roblox will not become a bank. It is not a new Robux wallet for regular players: a normal player does not need it to buy Robux, redeem a gift card or play games, and Roblox has not announced it as a replacement for gift cards. And it is not instant money: earnings can be subject to a hold period of up to 30 days depending on the transaction, and only cleared earnings are paid out. A sale on Monday does not become spendable cash on Tuesday.
The scale explains why Roblox built it. Since launching DevEx in 2013, creators have earned more than $5 billion through the program, including approximately $1.7 billion in the twelve months through June 30, 2026. For a solo creator that wait was an annoyance; for a team with salaries, advertising costs and regular expenses, it is a cash-flow problem — and Wallet is Roblox's answer to that.
How Daily Payouts Actually Work
The change that matters most is frequency, not the amount. Under DevEx today, you accumulate earned Robux, then submit a cash-out request once you hold at least 30,000 earned Robux — about $114 at the standard rate. With Wallet, there is no request to submit: once a transaction clears its hold period, the money moves into your Wallet automatically on the next business day. You keep it there or transfer it to your bank; either way, the wait for a manual cash-out request is gone.
Two numbers set expectations. First, the hold: Roblox says transactions can be held for up to 30 days depending on the transaction, so the daily payout is daily after holds clear, not daily from the moment of sale. Second, the rate: Wallet pays at the same DevEx rates as today. The standard DevEx rate is $0.0038 per earned Robux for Robux earned since September 5, 2025, and a higher $0.0054 rate applies to qualifying spend by verified US players aged 18 and older in eligible games, in force since June 8, 2026. So a 30,000-Robux payout is worth about $114 at the standard rate, or about $162 at the higher US 18+ rate — Wallet changes when that money arrives, not how much of it you keep. Our Robux and DevEx guide explains the full fee chain, including the 30% marketplace fee taken at the point of sale.
One practical detail solves an obvious worry: because earnings now arrive as dollars, creators would otherwise have to buy Robux back at retail prices to test games or pay publishing costs. Roblox says Wallet holders can buy Robux at the DevEx rate of $0.0038 per Robux, plus applicable tax — its own examples are 10,000 Robux for $38 and 30,000 for $114 — so you can reinvest earnings into Roblox without losing buying power.

Who Gets Roblox Wallet First
The first rollout is deliberately narrow. Starting in December 2026, Roblox plans to invite eligible creators who are based in the United States, at least 18 years old, and operating as independent creators (sole proprietors). If you qualify, you receive a notification in Creator Hub inviting you to apply — and Wallet is opt-in at launch: your earnings stay in Robux unless you apply and are approved. Opening a Wallet requires identity verification, two-factor authentication, tax documentation and any other required account setup, so having those in order now saves time when the invite arrives.
Everyone else waits for 2027. Roblox says it plans to broaden eligibility during 2027 to include incorporated businesses, group-owned wallets, eligible creators aged 13 and older with parental consent, and international creators, with payouts in local currency as Wallet expands. Exact country-by-country dates have not been announced, so if you are outside the US, the honest answer for now is: not yet, and no date to plan around. Availability can also vary inside the US, since Airwallex is licensed as a money transmitter in most — not all — states, so the invite in Creator Hub is the real test of whether you can open one.
Roblox Card: a Debit Card, Not a Credit Card
The second half of the announcement is Roblox Card, planned to begin rolling out in selected markets in 2027. The card connects directly to your Wallet balance and lets you spend your available balance anywhere the card network is accepted, including adding it to a digital wallet for tap-to-pay from a phone. Roblox's FAQ is explicit on the point that causes the most confusion: Roblox Card is not a credit card. You can only spend money that is already available in your Wallet — there is no credit line and no loan attached. Think of it as a debit card for your creator earnings, not as Roblox lending you money.
That distinction matters because the scams are already predictable. Any site, message or video promising early Wallet access, a Roblox Card for players, or a way to "activate" a Wallet outside Creator Hub is not Roblox — the only place to apply is the invite inside Creator Hub, and the only people who get one at launch are eligible US creators 18 and older. Regular players do not need a Wallet at all, and no genuine Wallet step should ever ask for your password or a payment outside Roblox.
What Happens to DevEx
DevEx is not being switched off in December. Roblox's own announcement says it will transition away from DevEx in mid-2027 in the US, and that DevEx will remain longer in other regions, with regional transition dates to be announced as Wallet expands internationally. Until your region transitions, DevEx works exactly as it does today: 13 or older, at least 30,000 earned Robux, a verified email address, a valid DevEx portal account, and a tax form on file — a W-9 for US persons or a W-8 for everyone else. Previously earned Robux do not disappear when you open a Wallet, either: Roblox says existing earned Robux will remain eligible for DevEx during the transition.
So the timeline, as Roblox has announced it, is: Wallet invitations start in December 2026 for a small group of US creators; the Card and wider eligibility follow in 2027; DevEx winds down in the US around mid-2027 and later elsewhere. None of that changes what you should do this month: keep building, keep earning, and keep your account's verification and tax paperwork current, because those are the same requirements for both systems.

What Creators Should Do Now
If you are a US creator aged 18 or older, the short checklist is: make sure your account's age is verified, turn on 2-step verification, and have your tax documentation ready — those are the Wallet application requirements, and they are also good practice for DevEx today. Then watch Creator Hub for the invitation; there is nothing to apply for until it arrives, and no third-party site can get you in earlier. If you earn through a game pass or developer products, our game pass guide covers the monetisation that feeds those earnings, and if your game is not earning yet, the honest first step is discovery — our guide to getting a game discovered covers the signals that actually move it.
If you are outside the US, under 18, or earning through a group, DevEx remains the way you cash out this year, and Wallet is a 2027 story. That is worth knowing now rather than in December, when the announcements and the scams will both be at their loudest. And if you sell avatar items as well as games, the same earnings logic applies — our shirt-making guide covers the clothing side, including the marketplace fee that sits between a sale and your balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Roblox Wallet for regular players?
No. Roblox Wallet is a creator earnings product. A regular player does not need it to buy Robux, redeem a gift card or play games. It is not a replacement for a normal Robux balance or for Roblox gift cards.
When does Roblox Wallet launch?
Starting in December 2026, Roblox plans to invite eligible US-based independent creators aged 18 and older to apply. International expansion, groups, incorporated businesses and eligible creators aged 13 and older with parental consent are planned for 2027, with no country-by-country dates announced yet.
Does Roblox Wallet replace DevEx?
Eventually, in the US. Roblox says it will transition away from DevEx in mid-2027 in the US, and DevEx will remain longer in other regions. Until your region transitions, DevEx works as it does today, and Robux earned before opening a Wallet remain eligible for DevEx.
Is Roblox Card a credit card?
No. Roblox Card is a debit card connected to your Wallet balance. You can only spend money that is already available in your Wallet — there is no credit line or loan attached. It is planned to begin rolling out in selected markets in 2027.
How much will I get paid through Wallet?
Wallet pays at the same DevEx rates as today: $0.0038 per earned Robux at the standard rate, and $0.0054 for qualifying spend by verified US players aged 18 and older in eligible games. The difference is timing — cleared earnings arrive every business day instead of waiting for a manual cash-out request — and holds of up to 30 days still apply per transaction.
Do I have to use Wallet when the invite arrives?
No. Wallet is opt-in at launch. Your earnings stay in Robux unless you apply and are approved, so you can keep using DevEx until you decide the daily payouts are worth switching for.
