What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let a site remember you between pages and visits, measure traffic and show ads. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work the same way and are covered by this policy too.
Cookies we use
| Type | Cookie / source | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Session cookie (PHPSESSID) |
Keeps you logged in while you browse and keeps forms secure. | Up to 1 year (renewed while you use the site) |
| Essential | rbx_auth |
Keeps you logged in until you press Logout. It stops working when you log out or change your password. | Up to 1 year |
| Analytics | Google Analytics (such as _ga, _ga_*) |
Counts visitors and shows which guides are read, so we can improve them. | Up to 2 years |
| Advertising | Google AdSense and its partners (such as __gads, __gpi) |
Serves and measures ads, limits how often you see the same ad and, where you agree, personalizes ads. | Set by Google, usually up to 13 months |
Names and lifetimes of Google cookies are set by Google and can change. See how Google uses cookies for the current details.
Your choices
- Consent message: if you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you will see a message from Google asking about analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your answer at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page.
- Personalized ads: turn them off in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info.
- Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser. Essential cookies are needed to log in, so some features will stop working without them.
Third-party cookies
Cookies from Google are placed by Google, not by us, and are governed by Google’s own privacy policy. Pages that link to or embed YouTube, Discord or other services may set cookies from those services as well.
